Chennai: Tamil Nadu cm MK Stalin On Thursday he claimed that the attempts of the center led by BJP to impose Hindi were only a facade and that the true intention was to spread the Sanskrit.
In his third letter to the DMK cadres that hit the center for their alleged plans to impose Hindi, Stalin said that where a three-languages formula was adopted, the Hindi-Sánscript had had priority. If TN also adopts this formula, it will end up moving on the Sanskrit agenda of BJP, Stalin claimed.
According to him, more than 25 languages such as Maithili, Braj, Bundelkhandi, Bhojpuri, Avadhi, Kannauji, Garhwali, Kumaoni spoken in several states of northern India were destroyed by Hindi-Sánscript. Since Tamil fought against direct invasion, BJP wants to impose Hindi-Sánscript through NEP, he said. “Neither Hindi nor Sanskrit can destroy the greatness of Tamil. He said that the fact that Tamil survived without being corrupted by the languages of northern India makes him a thorn in the flesh for those who are in power, which forces them to change their tactics.
Stalin said that Sec. 4.17 of NEP clearly promoted Sanskrit at all levels of education, relegating tamil and other languages to the secondary state. Only in SEC 4.18, Tamil is mentioned. “Even that says that languages, including tamil, will be taught only in addition to Sanskrit.”
“Pushing for a monolithic Hindi identity is what kills ancient maternal languages. Up and Bihar were never only ‘Hindi heart’. His real languages are now relics of the past,” Stalin said.
