The lawyer Aqeel Malik, advisor to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif by law, has suggested that the government could seek the extradition of PTI protesters abroad who have an “anti-state agenda.”
After more than a year of high tensions between the government and the PTI, the two parties began negotiations in December last year to reduce political temperatures. But despite the weeks of negotiations, the dialogue process stopped on two main issues: the formation of two judicial commissions and the release of PTI prisoners.
Citing the delay in forming the bodies of the probe, the PTI decided to boycott the fourth round of conversations scheduled at the end of January. After the negotiations remained in Limbo, both parties have continued exchanging spikes with each other.
Answering a question about PTI Shahbaz Gill leader, who is currently abroad, Malik said in an interview about Dawnnewstv ‘Doosra Rukh’ program on Friday: “The Interior Ministry has contacted Interpol with respect to these cases.”
Malik said: “Those who want to harm Pakistan sitting outside [and protesting] It will be returned to Pakistan, either through extradition or repatriation.
“The government has zero tolerance in this,” he added.
When asked if he included PTI’s protesters, Malik said: “If they (the protesters) are having an unknowing agenda without justifying evidence […] Measures against them will be taken in the next few days. “
The prime minister said that the people who protested abroad were “creating problems” for themselves in Pakistan.
Punjab Minister of Information, Azma Bokhari, said yesterday that the PTI celebrated a protest in London during the recent visit of the head of the Army staff also there.
“Around 50 PTI supporters protested the visit of the Army Chief, aligning with the Agendas of Foreign Agencies. Despite stating that representing the Pakistani abroad, each call made by PTI has been decisively rejected by them, ”said Bokhari.
The same day, the Minister of Defense, Khawaja Asif, assaulted the PTI once again, saying that the relevance of the party would end soon due to his “policy that encourages violence.”
The Minister of Petroleum, Dr. Musadik Malik, also ruled out any conversation with the PTI on the forgive years in prison.
