The children were among millions of people who lost Medicaid coverage after the government required states to reevaluate each beneficiary’s eligibility. Some have been able to recover benefits, but the interruption of services has taken its toll. NBC News’ Jesse Kirsch spoke with a mother whose son lost services about the fight to get them back and the impact on his care.
