Austin, Texas – A Texas man who murdered his Striptease Club manager and another man, then caused a massive blockade of the state prison system when he used a smuggling cell phone in the death corridor to threaten a legislator, was scheduled to be executed on Thursday.
Richard Lee Tabler, 46, would be the second inmate executed in Texas in just over a week, with two more scheduled by the end of April. He is ready to receive a lethal injection in the state penitentiary in Huntsville.
Tarler was sentenced by the deaths of thanksgiving 2004 of Mohammed-Amine Rahmouni, 28, and Haitham Zayed, 25, in a remote area near Killeen in the center of Texas.
