Karachi: expressing serious concerns about fraudulent real estate practices throughout Sindh, the president of the Office of National Responsibility (NAB), Lieutenant Nazir Gen which leads to the corruption that amounts to RS3,000 billion, according to a press release from the Association of Construction and Developers (ABAD) on Tuesday.
“If we open these files, it will cause great agitation,” said the head of NAB.
He regretted that during the last 40 years, the Lyari Development Authority (LDA), the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) and the Malir Development Authority (MDA) have not been able to deliver possession to their assigned.
During a visit to Abad on Monday, he said that if the association provides solid evidence, measures will be taken against those responsible.

He emphasized his awareness about the problems of builders and developers and affirmed the support of NAB, urging Abad to consider the office as his ally.

The president of NAB recognized the numerous problems facing the builders in Karachi and assured that NAB is with them.
He mentioned that reforms have been made in NAB’s laws and that the system has been updated to determine what cases they must present now.
He urged Abad to provide evidence of the 85,000 illegal buildings in Karachi so that they can be demolished or regularized based on Abad’s recommendations.
He revealed that in the last eight months, NAB has recovered 1.8 million agricultural land acres in Sindh, valued at RS4,000 billion and delivered it to the Department of Income.
Butt said that previously, anyone could file a complaint against anyone, but after assuming the position, the reforms have reduced the volume of complaints from 4,500 to 150-200. Approximately 21,000 complaints filed before 2022 have been dismissed.
He assured that if an NAB officer illegally harasses someone, strict measures will be taken when receiving a complaint. He acknowledged to be aware of all the problems that builders face.
The president of the NAB indicated the lack of a suitable record maintenance system for the Earth in Sindh, with several land departments operating without intertwining.
He announced that significant measures will be taken on land records in Sindh. He instructed the CEO of the NAB to report on the supervision of the Karachi master plan.
He also mentioned establishing a regional NAB office in Gwadar to address the continuous corruption of the Earth there, with cases that involve land worth approximately RS3,000 billion.
The abbot pattern, Mohsin Sheikhani, proposed that land transactions be subject to NAB verification. He advocated the digitalization of land records in Sindh to eliminate corruption, noting that the manipulation of land records has been generalized.
He suggested that third -party services are used for digitalization, since corrupt institutions are digitizing their registers themselves.
