Nueva Delhi: British singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran took fans by surprise with an improvised performance in Church Street, just for the Bengaluru police to close it moments after he started singing “Form”.
The unexpected interruption on Sunday caused a wave of online discussions, and many wonder why the world pop star stopped so fast in its performance.
The video that circulated online showed the artist starting his performance before police officers intervened and disconnected the team, finishing the program in a minute.
Talking to the Ani news agency, the Deputy Police Commissioner (DCP) for the Central Bengaluru, Shekar T Tekkannanavar said: “A member among the organizers of the event came to meet with me to search for permission for the presentation of the street in Church Street I refused to give permission.
After Sunday’s incident, the “Perfect” Singer clarified that his team had received the previous approval to act on the street. Sheeran went to her fans on Instagram, assuring them that she would continue to act in the city.
