Nine Indian citizens were killed in a traffic accident in Saudi Arabia, according to information shared by the Indian consulate in Jeddah on Wednesday. The diplomatic mission confirmed its continuous support and communication with the relevant authorities and the affected families.
The Indian consulate, in a statement on X, said: “We deeply regret the tragic loss of 9 Indian nationals in a road accident, near Jizan, in the western region of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
Ensuring more assistance to the families of the deceased, added the consulate: “Our most sincere condolences to affected families. The Consulate General of India in Jeddah is providing total support and is in contact with the authorities and families. We also want a rapid recovery.
The Minister of External Affairs, S Jaishankar responded to the incident and expressed his condolences. “Diluted upon learning of this accident and the loss of lives,” said Jaishankar, while confirming communication with the Consul General of India in Jeddah for “extending maximum support in this tragic situation.”
