750 hospitalised with cholera in GB’s Astore district: district health officer – Pakistan

At least 750 people have been hospitalized with anger and gastroenteritis in the district of Astore de Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), said the District Health Officer (DHO) Dawn.com On Wednesday.

Astore Dho Dr. Nawab Ahmed Khan said that the 750 cases were reported for four days, although 90 percent of them are now under control.

“I applied 60 drips to a single patient from morning to night,” said Dr. Khan. “Several drops were also administered even after the patient left the hospital.”

In the middle of the monsoon season, GB has been beaten by severe floods. Hundreds of people in the region have been victims of water transmitted diseases due to a serious shortage of drinking water.
