ISHA Foundation‘s Sadhguru Gurukulam Recently concluded a 15 days Yoga Hatha Classic Residential program to “train the coach” for Indian Defense Forces. Held at the Yoga Center of ISHA in Coimbatore from March 17 to 31, the program trained 72 Navy personnel to teach Hatha Yoga To his classmates.
Participants learned practices such as Aum Canta, Isha Kriya, Upa Yoga, Surya Kriya and Angamardana to improve physical and mental resistance. Sadhguru, founder of the ISHA Foundation, congratulated them on X, emphasizing the importance of yoga to maintain strength and clarity.

The Vaibhav Commander of the Indian Navy highlighted how yoga offers more than only physical training, strengthening internal resilience. With this training, participants will now share their knowledge in defense stations, promoting general well -being.
“In my experience, the physical exercises we suffer in defense training are mainly aimed at developing muscle strength or improving lung capacity. However, practicing Hatha’s classic yoga here made me realize that yoga is often misunderstood as a physical exercise.”
“Instead of seeing yoga as another physical activity, the integration of yoga into our training can serve as a basis that strengthens our inner strength, becoming more effective in everything we do.”
“If we can make a classic Hatha Yoga an integral part of our defense training programs, it will cultivate an inner strength that no adversary could understand,” he said.
The ISHA Foundation has previously trained more than 10,000 defense personnel and plans to continue this initiative annually to support the Armed Forces.
