7 dead in stampede outside India’s Bengaluru cricket stadium – World

At least seven people were killed in a stampede outside a Cricket stadium in the Bengaluru of India, where an event was held to celebrate the first victory in the premier league title of the Premier of the Royal Chalflanter Bengaluru, television channels reported Wednesday.

Bengaluru beat Punjab Kings in the last game of the tournament on Tuesday.

Thousands of people, some of them stirring the team’s red flag, aligned the streets before the Chinnaswamy stadium in the city’s heart when the Cricket team arrived at the scene on a bus at night, the television channels showed.

The images after the stampede showed a policeman who took a spectator injured to an ambulance, while people gathered around a second person who lay apparently unconscious on the ground.

Prints and other accidents are not uncommon when large crowds meet in India, even during religious events.

At least 30 people were killed in a stampede at the Maha Kumbh Hindu festival in January, while dozens of millions gathered to take a dip in sacred waters in their most auspicious day.
