6 workers trapped in mine collapse in Kurram

KURRAM: Six workers were trapped in a coal mine at Tora Wari in central Kurram on Sunday after an explosion caused part of the mine to collapse amid a sudden rise in water levels, officials said.

Rescue officials reported that the explosion caused a surge of groundwater, causing the collapse. According to police, the collapse occurred shortly after the explosion, leaving workers stranded inside.

Joint rescue teams from Hangu and Kurram districts rushed to the spot and launched an operation to save the trapped miners.

Equipped with modern machinery, crews began pumping water out of the flooded section of the mine.
