At least six people died and another 12 were injured when a bus overturned and fell into a ditch near Makli in the Thatta district of Sindh on Sunday morning, rescue officials said.
According to Edhi’s rescue service, the bus overturned near the Bypass Thatta, after which a rescue team arrived at the incident site and transported the injured to a hospital.
“The bodies of the six victims were initially taken to a morgue in the city of Orangi,” said the service in a statement, added that they were then transported to Edhi’s morgue in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth.
The bus took a group of Karachi hikers to Keenjhar Lake when he overturned while taking an abrupt turn, killing six passengers and hurting dozens, state -owned. Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
“The local authorities and rescue teams responded quickly, arriving at the scene of the accident in a matter of minutes. The injured were transferred to Karachi hospitals, and they were reported that several are in critical condition,” he said.
In another incident, at least one person died and several others, including women and children, were seriously injured when a passenger bus overturned on the National Gambat highway in the Khairpur district of Sindh.

Sindh’s Prime Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, expressed a deep sadness for the loss of lives in bus accidents, according to a statement issued by his spokesman Abdul Rashid Channa.
Expressing sympathy with the victims of Makli incidents, he issued directives to the attached commissioner of Thatta (DC) to guarantee the provision of immediate medical assistance to the injured. The prime minister also told him to immediately contact their families and cooperate completely.
In expressing the pain for Khairpur’s accident, CM Murad issued instructions similar to the Khairpur DC to guarantee the medical treatment of the injured. He urged people to drive carefully to protect precious lives.
Accidents are common on roads and highways in Pakistan, caused by reckless driving, speeding, driver fatigue and poor vehicle maintenance. The bad road conditions contribute to mishaps, while the weak application of traffic laws allows violations not to control, worsening the situation.
Earlier this month, four people lost their lives and another six were injured, all of the same family, after their exhaustive car crashed into a wall next to a drain in Hawkes’ Bay Road in the area of Karachi Mauripur.
The South Deputy Inspector (DIG) Syed Asad Raza said the family returned from Hawke’s Bay beach, and the accident probably happened as a result of speeding.
In an incident on July 15, a collision between a trailer and a truck left one dead and three injured near the new Karachi Sabzi Mandi in the Super Highway.
On June 19, a speed -speed dumper truck overturned in a 4×4 vehicle in Rashid Minhas Road, killing a woman and a five -year -old girl who accompanies him.
On June 11, a young man died and his wife were injured in an accident after an unknown vehicle hit his bicycle in the Super Highway. The same day, two children were killed after an oil tanker hit them near Abdullah College in Northern Nazimabad.
