Cairo: At least 58 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza in a single day, including 27 help search engines that were shot dead in a food distribution site in Rafah, according to medical sources.
The Nasser hospital in southern Gaza, Khan Yunis, received 35 of those killed on Tuesday. Another six were received by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs hospital in Center of Gaza, Deir El-Balah. In the city of Gaza, the Al-Shifa hospital received 14 bodies, and three more were delivered to the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital, medical sources said. Al Jazeera.
More than 180 Palestinians were injured when Israeli forces opened fire against a group of Palestinians trying to approach the Rafah distribution center.
While attacks on help operations continued for the third consecutive day, an Israeli army spokesman said: “We are trying to understand what happened.”
The UN Rights Agency says that obstructing access to food ‘constitutes a war crime’
The UN Human Rights Office in Geneva said that the impediment of access to food relief for civilians in Gaza “constitutes a war crime” and described attacks on people who try to access food aid as “inconceivable.”
The UN Agency Chief Volker Turk urged a quick and impartial investigation into the murders.
A spokesman for the Red Cross International Committee said that his field hospital in Rafah had received 184 casualties, adding that 19 of them were dead upon arrival, and eight died of their wounds shortly after.
The video showed injured people transferred to a medical center in cars drawn by donkeys.
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation backed by the United States launched its first distribution sites last week in an effort to relieve generalized hunger among the 2.3 million people in Gaza, most of whom have been forced to leave their homes to flee the struggles. The operation of the Foundation, which avoids traditional aid groups, has been fiercely criticized by the UN and established charities that say it does not follow the humanitarian principles.
The private group, backed by Israel, said he had distributed 21 food trucks on Tuesday and said that the reported violence had not happened in place.
“This was an area far beyond our site and safe distribution control. We recognize the difficult nature of the situation and advise all civilians who remain in the safe corridor when they travel to our distribution sites.”
