Up to 55 people were killed in a variety of incidents about Eidul Azha’s holidays in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to a rescue 1122 press release.
Rescue 1122 said that the 55 deaths were the result of several incidents, including traffic accidents, fire shoots, drowning incidents and cases related to firearms, and added that the injured were quickly transported to hospitals to receive treatment.
“To safeguard the influx of tourists and local communities, special medical camps were established in the main tourist destinations, while dedicated water rescue teams were deployed in rivers and dams throughout the province,” said the statement, citing the rescue spokesman of 1122 kp Bilal Ahmad Faizi.

According to Rescue Director 1122, Shah Fahad, 1,400 of the informed incidents were medical emergencies, 349 were traffic accidents, 112 were fire -related incidents, 82 were recovery operations, 50 were emergencies related to crime and six were drowning.
“Peshawar only witnessed 418 emergency responses, which resulted in the safe transfer of 431 patients to medical facilities,” the statement added. “The incidents included 43 traffic accidents, 338 medical emergencies, 20 fire incidents, eight injuries for firearms and 11 recovery operations.”
Yesterday, a search operation was launched after two girls fell from an improvised bridge over the Gwaldai River in the Shahi area of the KP’s upper district and disappeared, police said.
