Deir Al-Balah, Strip Gaza-The Israeli air attacks killed at least 28 Palestinians, including four children in the Gaza Strip, while another 24 received a fatal shot on their way to a help distribution site, officials and witnesses of the Palestinian hospital said on Saturday.
The children and two women were among at least 13 people killed in Deir Al-Balah, in the center of Gaza, after the Israeli air attacks hit the area from Friday night, said officials of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs hospital. Another fifteen died in air attacks in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, according to Nasser Hospital.
Israel’s army did not immediately respond to the request for comments from Associated Press.
At least 24 people were killed on their way to a food distribution site near Rafah directed by an American organization backed by Israelis, hospital officials and witnesses said. Israel’s army said he shot warning shots towards the people who said they behaved suspiciously to prevent them from approaching. He said he was not aware of any victim.
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation said there was no incident near its sites.
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said he is approaching another high -fire agreement between Israel and Hamas that would bring the liberation of more hostages from Gaza and potentially reduced the war. But after two days of conversations this week with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, there were no signs of an advance. The militant group still has about 50 hostages, with at least 20 that they are believed to remain alive.
More murders near the help site administered by Americans
The 21 -month war has left much of the population of Gaza of more than 2 million that depend on external aid, while food security experts warn about famine. Israel blocked and then restricted the entry of aid after finishing the last fire in March.
The fatal shootings of 24 people occurred in the Rafah area of southern Gaza, hundreds of meters (yards) of the food distribution site, said Israel’s army.
A GHF spokesman, who spoke on condition of anonymity in line with the group’s policies, said: “We verified with our extended team and this incident did not occur near our sites.”
The witnesses said they were shot while heading to the site.
Abdullah al-Haddad said it was 200 meters (655 feet) of the GHF aid distribution site near the Shakoush area, west of Rafah, when an Israeli tank began to shoot at the multitudes of Palestinians.
“We were together and shot us immediately,” he said, twisting with pain for a leg wound at Nasser hospital.
Mohammed Jamal Al-Sahloo, another witness, said that Israel’s army had ordered them to proceed to the site when the shooting began.
The 17-year-old son from Sumaya al-Sha’er, Nasir, was killed in the shooting, hospital officials said.
“He told me: ‘Mom, you don’t have a flour and today I will bring you flour, even if I die, I will look for her,” he said. “But he never returned home.”
Until then, he said, he had prevented the teenager from going to GHF’s sites because he thought it was too dangerous. But food supplies were running out.
Witnesses, health officials and UN officials say that hundreds have been killed by the Israeli fire while they are directed towards GHF distribution points through military areas outside the limits to independent media. The army has recognized warning shots to the Palestinians who, he says, approached their forces in a suspicious way.
The GHF denies that there has been violence in its sites or around its sites in the past. But two of his contractors told the AP that his colleagues have fired live ammunition and stun the grenades when the Palestinians fight for food, the accusations denied by the foundation.
In a separate effort, UN groups and help say they are struggling to distribute humanitarian aid due to Israeli military restrictions and a breakdown of the law and the order that has led to a generalized looting.
The first fuel, 150,000 liters, entered Gaza this week after 130 days, said a joint statement of the UN help agencies, calling him a small amount for the “spine of survival in Gaza.” The fuel executes hospitals, water systems, transport and more, according to the statement.
New warning along the coast of Gaza
The Israel Army said that in the last 48 hours, the troops reached approximately 250 objectives in Gaza, including militants, structures trapped in bobias, arms storage facilities, anti -tank missile launch posts, snipe posts, tunnels and additional hams sites.
Also on Saturday, the military announced strict restrictions along the Mediterranean coast of Gaza and asked fishermen, swimmers and divers not to go to the sea.
The militants led by Hamas killed about 1,200 people in their attack on October 7, 2023 against Israel that caused the war and kidnapped 251.
The retaliation offensive of Israel has killed more than 57,800 Palestinians, more than half of them women and children, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. The Ministry, which is under the Gaza government, directed by Hamas, does not differentiate between civilians and combatants in their account. The UN and other international organizations see their figures as the most reliable statistics on war casualties.
