The Punjab (CTD) contractorism department said on Saturday that he had killed five terrorists and successfully frustrated a terrorist plot in Taunsa Sharif in a “great anti -terrorism advance.”
There has been a recent increase in terrorist attacks in Pakistan during the past year. The CTD regularly performs operations to prevent and investigate activities related to terrorism and gather intelligence.
A press release issued today by the CTD said that an intelligence-based operation took place near Tri-Border’s village.
According to a CTD spokesman, the operation was launched after “credible intelligence reports” about the presence of alleged armed terrorists in the area. Although the operation was aimed at stopping them, they opened fire against the CTD team, which led to a crossfacting fire.
The press release explained that the exchange of heavy fires continued for several hours, during which five terrorists were eliminated, while another five suffered injuries and escaped to the nearby forest.
“CTD teams acted quickly and professionally, avoiding what could have been a catastrophic attack,” the statement added.
During the hairstyle operation, the team recovered a stash of lethal weapons that include rifles, three improvised explosive devices, a large number of ammunition, hand grenades and explosive material.
The statement stressed that these recoveries underlined the severity of the threat and scale of the planned attack.
He added that a search operation was currently being carried out to track and stop the injured terrorists who fled the scene. The press release said that the CTD teams established control points near Romani, Taunsa, to ensure the region and avoid a greater escape and the process of identifying the deceased terrorists was ongoing.
He said that four bodies were delivered to the hospital for legal formalities, while one was taken from the scene by the accomplices.
The CTD has been “continuously operating against the terrorists who attack the police positions in the Tri-Border area of Dera Ghazi Khan,” the statement added.
A statement from the Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, praised the CTD for his operation and said the terrorists were from Fitna to Hindustan.
The government has designated all terrorist organizations in Baluchistan as Fitna to Hindustan. The term ‘fitna al Hindustan’ is a new aquatic phrase by the Pakistan army, aimed at frameing the supposed role of India in terrorism as a deliberate destabilization strategy, potentially to galvanize domestic support.
In May, the Punjab CTD said they frustrated an “important terrorist plot” by arresting 3 alleged terrorists from prohibited organizations during 415 intelligence -based operations throughout the province.
The previous month, he arrested 10 terrorists belonging to prohibited organizations during 189 operations in different Punjab areas.
CTD says that the terrorist killed in Bahawalpur
Separately, Punjab’s CTD said it and the police performed a joint operation in Bahawalpur and killed a terrorist belonging to Fitna to Hindustan.
The CTD said in a statement that the operation was carried out to arrest a “very dear terrorist”, immediately responding to the information about him.
“During the operation, a terrorist was killed in a fire exchange, while his three accomplices managed to escape,” said the statement.
He added: “The timely action of the CTD avoided an important tragedy.”
According to a CTD spokesman, the team recovered a lot of ammunition, hand grenades and sensitive material from the terrorists, who planned to use for an important sabotage operation.
“The CTD registered a case on positions of terrorism, murder and possession of explosives,” said the statement.
In addition, he said that raids were being carried out to locate escaped terrorists, adding that greater investigation was underway.
