At least five terrorists were killed, two others were injured and eight were arrested in an operation carried out by the Police and the Department of Contribution (CTD) in the Malakand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday night, according to a local official.
Pakistan has witnessed an increase in terrorist activities during the past year, especially in KP and Baluchistan, after the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) outlaw (TTP) ended its high fire with the government in November 2022.
Dargai Tehsil Commissioner Waheedullah Khan said Dawn.com That an important operation was carried out in the Malakand Mehrday area today.

The AC added that the terrorists arrested were transported to the CTD center, while the injured were transferred to the Tehsil Dargai hospital.
Dargai AC said that the terrorist group was involved in terrorist attacks in the region.
Today early, nine terrorists were killed and three security officers were injured in a fire exchange during an operation in the Hagu district of KP, police said.
