It is always unpleasant losing to India, but what is even more depressing is that at this point, Pakistan’s ODI unit cannot even offer a competitive game, much less a victory.
The Pakistan defense champions crashed into the 2025 Champions Trophy with their second consecutive defeat of the tournament on Sunday, this time at the hands of the Indian archirrival in the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Here are our five conclusions of the game:
What rivalry?

The defeat of Sunday was the sixth consecutive of Pakistan in an odi against India, which we would have still been well if we had been fighting and maintaining the games nearby.
Look at the pattern of the last six accessories between the two teams:
- India won by 8 WICKETS in September 2018
- India won for 9 WICKETS in September 2018
- India won by 89 races in June 2019
- India won by 228 races in September 2023
- India won by 7 WICKETS in October 2023
- India won by 6 WICKETS in February 2025
This lack of quality has impacted the quality of India Pak matches, and that we have to go more than a decade in 2014 to find an ODI accessory that would be reduced to the cable.
In a way, we must thank the politicians of these two nations for keeping this rivalry alive, because Crickt players, especially on our side, are certainly unable to present a show that is worthy of their turnover.
