Five people died and 25 were seriously injured as a high -speed passenger bus overturned near Nawan Kot in Layyah on Sunday, after which a case was recorded against the road contractor of the road when the accident occurred because the concrete was placed on the road.
According to a first information report (FIR), available with Dawn.comFive people, including the bus driver, died while another 25 were injured in the accident.
The bus had overturned in the Nawan Kot area, and a case was recorded at the Chaubara police station.
“The contractor was accused of blocking the stacking road gravel and not installing signs,” said the FIR. Consequently, there was a case against the construction road contractor in the complaint of Abid Hussain, who was the grandson of a deceased passenger.
A rescue official said that 25 members of the same family were injured when the passenger bus overturned, adding that the passenger bus came from the Bibi Pak Daman Lahore sanctuary to Karor Lal Eesan Tehsil Layyah, the statement added.
The deceased and wounded were transferred to Fatehpur Hospital in Tehsil, while six passengers were seriously injured were transferred to Nishtar Fullan hospital to receive treatment.
The Chobara Police registered the case against the contractor under sections 279 (eruption of the eruption or conduct publicly), 322 (causing death by eruption or negligent driving), 337-G (punishment for recklessness or negligent impulse), 341 (punishment for unfair restriction) and 422 (penalty (pekishiston (pekishist (penal penal).
Rescue officials said there were 62 passengers inside the passenger bus, while 20 were on the roof.
Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif shared his sadness for the incident, ordering the deputy commissioner of Layyah, Amira Baida, to provide the best facilities to patients and an excellent treatment.
