RCMP says that five people are dead and a person is in critical condition after an accident on Saturday night on highway 101 in the Annapolis Valley of Nueva Scotia.
Staff sergeant. The largest Deepak Prasad said that two vehicles were traveling east of Falmouth in a twin section of the road between outputs 7 and 8 when they collided around 11:12 pm.
Prasad said that the two people in Honda Civic died, a 43 -year -old man and a 45 -year -old woman from Falmouth.
He said three people at Nissan Sentra died. A 45 -year -old woman from Oxford, NS, and a 58 -year -old man from Nappan, NS, were declared dead on the scene. A 50 -year male passenger from Oxford was taken to the hospital and then declared dead.
Prasad said that a 29 -year -old male passenger from BC was transferred by plane to the hospital and is in critical condition.
It is not clear what led to the accident.
Prasad said the police are asking for witnesses who have not talked to them or people with images of Dashcam to present themselves. The detachment of West Hants RCMP at 902-798-2207 can be achieved.
The lanes east in the area where they closed for several hours after the accident, but since then they have reopened.
