A four -year -old boy was killed on Saturday in another accident that involved a heavy vehicle in Karachi, police said.
The city has recently witnessed an increase in traffic accidents, especially involving water dumpeters and oil tankers, who killed almost 500 people and injured 4,879 in 2024, according to hospital data.
The incidents caused protests for the deaths of citizens, after which the provincial government prohibited the movement of heavy vehicles during the day in Karachi, while ordering them to obtain a physical conditioning certificate of vehicles.
Talking with Dawn.com Today, the officer of the Baldia Police Station (SHO) Imran Saad said that a four -year -old boy played on a road in Abidabad when a tank truck ran and killed him.
Sho Saad said the driver managed to escape from the place, while the water oil tanker was confiscated.
He added that the accident outraged the locals, who tried to damage the oil tanker, however, the police prevented them from doing so.
