Four teenagers and a man are dead after a multiple vehicle accident on Friday near London, police said.
The emergency teams responded around 4:30 pm to the clash to the northeast of London on Thorndale and Cobble Hills roads, said the Provincial Police of Ontario.
A SUV collided with a transport truck, which then collided with a second SUV, police said in a press release on Saturday.
The five victims were in the first SUV, police said.
Two 17 -year -old girls and a 16 -year -old girl died at the scene, police said. A 16 -year -old girl and a 33 -year -old man were taken to the hospital where they were later declared dead.
The truck driver and the two people in the second SUV suffered minor injuries, police said.
The police ask any witness in the area at the time of the accident to review the images of their camera. Any person with information must contact the police or leave an anonymous advice with Crime Stoppers.
In a publication on X Saturday, the Prime Minister of Ontario, Doug Ford, said he was “devastated” about the accident.
“My thoughts are with families and their loved ones who lament this terrible loss,” said the publication.
