Four people died and 10 were injured in rain -related incidents in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday, authorities said.
The victims were informed after a series of rays and structure collapses occurred amid extremely strong rains.
Rescue spokesman 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bilal Ahmad Faizi said Dawn.comthat the victims were informed in the districts of Mohmand and Milda of the province.
“Two people died while one was injured in a ray in Mohmand,” he said. “As soon as the incident was reported, the 1122 rescue control room took immediate measures and sent a medical response equipment to the scene.”
He added that the team took appropriate measures and provided first aid to the injured in the scene and then transferred him to the Hospital of Tehsil Nawagai.
“The bodies of the two deceased were transported to the Hospital of the Ghalnai District headquarters after the medical-legal formalities,” he added.
“The medical equipment, fires and rescue disasters 1122 are carrying out aid operations,” Faizi said. “The roads are closed in several areas due to the fall of trees. Rescue 1122 disaster equipment and local people are working to clear the roads.”
Providing details of the victims, Rescue 1122, in a statement, said that in Takht-i-Bahi, it was reported that a mother and daughter died after a roof collapsed while a girl was injured, and added that in Katlang Qasmi, a 60-year-old woman was seriously injured, while two children suffered critical wounds in a similar incident in Akhun Baba.
Abdul Salam, fifteen, was seriously injured in a wall collapse in Bakhshali Cham Dheri Road. In manga, three people were critically hurt in another wall collapse. A 38 -year -old woman was injured when a door collapsed near Madrasa Jave, and a 40 -year -old woman suffered serious injuries in a wall collapse in Rustam Peshkando.
“Rescue 1122 said their medical teams provided first aid to all injured and transported them to nearby hospitals,” said the statement.
The World Meteorological Organization predicted that most of the southern Asia would experience rains above the rains and temperatures higher than the average during the southwest monzon season this year from June to September.
Earlier this week, at least three people lost their lives and several others were injured when strong winds and thunderstorms whipped several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab on Tuesday.
