Punjab police on Saturday morning could repel a terrorist attack at a control point in Dera Ghazi Khan, killing three terrorists and hurting “a large number” of them, the force said in a statement.

According to publications on the social networks of the Punjab Police today, 20-25 terrorists attacked the Lakhani control point in DG Khan, which is located along the border with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The terrorists were forced to withdraw and flee to the mountains after an intense exchange of fire with the agencies of application of the law.
The operation was launched after intelligence reports on the presence of terrorists in the border area of Murha. Police said terrorists, armed with heavy weapons, attacked police teams, but found a strong and timely response.
In a separate incident, another group of terrorists launched a surprise attack against the border control point of Lakhani in the vicinity of the Wahowa police station.
