Coimbatore: Two schoolgirls and a child between 10 and 12 years were raped and repeatedly sodomized in recent months by four children and an 18 -year -old in Coimbatore.
Four of the defendants were arrested on Friday after a call to Help line alerted authorities. One of the minors has omitted and the police are looking for him.
The sources said that the four minor children, who are abandoned school, and the 18 -year -old defendant, became friends with the children and took them to an isolated place near their people and raped them.
They blackmailed the children, who were from poor families, with videos of the act and hit them if they refused to make their orders.
The parents of the three victims learned about sexual assault on Friday morning after the child trusted a relative. As parents were reluctant to file a police complaint, some villagers contacted Childline (1098) and reported the crime.
Based on the complaint of the Childline coordinator, the Women’s Police registered a case against the five defendants under the Pocso Law. The three children arrested were housed in a youth house, while the 18 -year -old was sent in judicial custody and sent to the Coimbatore prison.
