3 Karachi police officers suspended, demoted over mishandling of Mustafa Amir case – Pakistan

Three police officers were suspended and degraded by mishandling in the case of kidnapping and murder of Mustafa Amir, 23, in the Karachi Defense Housing Authority, an official said on Sunday.

Amir was kidnapped from DHA on January 6, and his family received a rescue call two weeks later. During the investigation, the police arrested a man named Armaghan after a shooting, who said the young people were killed by their friends.

Later, Armaghan was sent in preventive detention by an anti -terrorism court, while the police presented another suspect, Shavez Bukhari, in court, looking for his custody for the interrogation.

On January 12, the Police found an unidentified agency in a burning car in Hub, that Baluchistan police then delivered to the Edhi Foundation for the burial. The un claimed body was buried in Edhi’s cemetery in Karachi on January 16.

While talking with Dawn.com Today, the Deputy Police Inspector (South) Syed Asad Raza said that “three officers were suspended after they did not make any advance in the case.”

In a video statement published on social networks, the victim’s mother said that SSP’s investigation Ali Hassan was “guilty of blaming victims and not taking action for 20 days.”

In response, the DIG recognized the video and said that an investigation into the accusations would be carried out.

According to two orders issued by Dig South, the Officer of the ABDUL RASHEED PATHAN station and the investigation officer of the Zulfiqar Ahmed Station of the Darakhshan police station were reversed to the substantive range of assistant sub -inspectors.

While, the investigation officer thus Iphtikhar Ahmed of the same station was reversed to head the agent, pending research/procedures in his conduct in relation to the case of kidnapping of Mustafa Amir.

“They have been transferred to the headquarters in the garden where they will attend the call/parade daily,” the order said.

They will draw wages and assignments as admissible under the rules, he said.
