Three civilians were injured in the explosion of an improvised explosive device (IED) targeting a truck carrying Frontier Corps (FC) personnel on Friday in Chaman town, Balochistan, according to police.
A statement by Rabia Tariq, public relations officer of Balochistan police inspector general’s office, said a motorcycle IED blast targeted an FC truck transporting personnel from an army fort to a strong point of the FC.
He added that all FC personnel were unharmed, while three civilians were injured in the incident, two of whom sustained minor injuries and were treated on the spot, while the third was taken to a hospital.
The incident comes a few days after an attacker crashed an explosive-laden car into a bus carrying FC personnel from Karachi to Turbat in Behan area, near their destination, on Saturday. The banned Baloch Liberation Army said its Majeed Brigade had carried out the blast.
The attack left six dead and more than 50 injured, including Senior Superintendent of Police Zohaib Mohsin and six members of his family.
