Three children are dead after a night accident on the 401 highway in Etobicoke that the police say that they believe it is related to deteriorated driving.
The accident occurred around 12:33 AM near Renforth Drive and the 401 highway on the ramp to the east, Toronto police said in an X position on Sunday morning.
A vehicle hit a stopped vehicle that had six occupants, police said. It is not clear if the second vehicle was parked on the road shoulder or not. CBC contacted the police for more details, but did not immediately receive an answer.
Two children were declared dead on the site, said the post. A third child was declared dead in the hospital.
A fourth child and two adults were taken to the hospital, police said. The three suffered serious injuries, but they are not critical, Toronto’s paramedics said.
A 19 -year -old has been arrested and faces charges for driving with disabilities, police said. He was the only occupant of the vehicle.
The paramedics could not say if it was a family in the stopped vehicle. Nor did they provide the ages of the victims.
Renforth Drive is closed for police investigation.
