Nueva Delhi: At least three Jawans of the Border Security Force (BSF) were injured in a violent clash on the Indo-Bangladesh border on Tripura on Friday.
The incident occurred in the Sepahijala district of Tripura when Bangladesh Intruders entered the Indian territory near the border pillar 2050/7-s.
According to the officials, the intruders were supposedly involved in smuggling and had links with Indian criminals. A BSF patrol team intercepted them, but instead of retiring, the intruders launched a violent attack.
Some of the intruders even tried to snatch weapons from BSF staff as the situation intensified. A Jawan BSF fired a non -lethal round from a pump action gun (PAG) to control the situation and protect. A citizen of Bangladesh was also injured in skirmish.
The wounded Jawans and Bangladesh’s intruder were taken to nearby hospitals to receive treatment. Its condition is currently stable, and more investigations are being carried out to identify and take measures against those involved in the border intrusion.
In another unrelated incident, the Mumbai police carried out a large -scale operation on Monday under the orders of the Praveen Mundhe Deputy Commissioner, the Ani news agency reported.
The raids were made in Mankhurd, Vashi Naka, Kalamboli, Panvel, Kopri Thane, Kalyan and Mumbra, which leads to the arrest of 16 national Bangladesh by illegal entrance.
