2025 NYC Pride Parade sees noticeable drop in visible corporate sponsorships amid DEI backlash

“It hurts a little. Like certain companies … I really feel that they cared a lot, especially with things like their trans care, things like that. And now that they are retiring that Dei, it hurts. It feels like a betrayal,” they said.

According to a Gravity Research survey, 39% of corporations are reducing the commitments of the month of external pride this year. That is a two -digit increase with respect to last year when only 9% of corporations were changing their pride plan.

An NBC report also found that the organizers of several of the country’s main pride celebrations lost an estimate of $ 200,000 to $ 350,000 corporate sponsors funds this year.

“We leave and survey a group of corporate executives, 49 executives, to be specific, in the period prior to the month of pride,” said Gravity Research president Luke Hartig.

“65% of our respondents said they feared a violent reaction in some way to their commitment to pride, and when we specifically ask them what interested parties are promoting their adjustments to pride?

In addition, Gravity Research found that no company surveyed in 2025 reported an increase in pride investments.

Hartig said that many of these great corporations continue the internal efforts of Dei, but have reduced their public visibility to support the months based on identity, such as the month of the black history of February and the pride of June, due to fear of reaction.
