Two soldiers were martyred while nine terrorists were killed in two separate commitments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, military media wing said on Saturday.
According to a statement of public relations between services (ISPR), the commitments occurred on Fridays and Saturdays.
In the first, the security forces carried out an intelligence -based operation in the Mohmand district during which seven terrorists were “sent to hell” after the troops “effectively committed them” in their location.
However, the ISPR added that Muhammad Zahid, 37, and the Sepay Ali Shah of the Malakand district, 26, “made the final sacrifice” and were martyred during the intense fire exchange after “having fought with galantely.”
In another meeting that took place in the general area of Maddi in the district of Dera Ismail Khan, the ISPR said the troops exchanged fire with terrorists, killing two of them.
He added that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the murdered terrorists who actively participated in numerous terrorist activities.
The ISPR said that disinfecting operations were being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist in the area. “Pakistan security forces are determined to eliminate the threat of terrorism in the country,” he concluded.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to security forces for his successful operations against terrorists, according to a statement published in X.
Naqvi also paid tribute to the two martyred soldiers, extending their condolences to their families.
The security forces had killed 10 terrorists on Thursday who tried to attack a check in the KP Jandola.
Earlier this month, 16 terrorists were killed, while five soldiers were martyred when security forces responded to a terrorist attack against Bannu’s cliff in the KP’s homonymous district.
The terrorists had rammed two vehicles loaded with explosives in the perimeter of Bannu’s cliff in an attempt to enter the high security zone. Thirteen civilians lost their lives, while another 32 were injured as a result of a mosque and a residential building that suffers “severe destruction” due to suicidal explosions, which caused the perimeter wall to partially collapse.
