15 people killed in stampede at train station in New Delhi, official says

Nueva Delhi – at least 15 people were killed in a stampede at a railway station in the capital of India in New Delhi, an official said Sunday.

The main minister of Delhi caregiver, Atishi, who uses only one name, said the bodies were taken to Lok Nayak Hospital Jai Prakash Narain of the capital.

The stampex occurred on Saturday night, while thousands of people gathered at the New Delhi train station and were waiting to board a train to the Hindu Kumbh Hindu Festival site in northern India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was “distressed by the stampede.”

“My thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the injured to have a quick recovery. The authorities are helping everyone who has been affected by this stampede, ”he said in X.

Ashwini Vaishnaw Railroad Minister said an investigation was ordered to find what led to the stampede.

At least 30 people died in a stampede at the six -week festival last month after dozens of millions of Hindus gathered to take a dip in the waters of the Sacred River.
