LAHORE: At least 10 people were killed as strong cities soaked in rain in Punjab on Thursday, according to rescue officials and the provincial disaster management authority.
Some districts in southern Punjab were also beaten by a strong wind storm. The weather brought very necessary relief after weeks of suffocating heat where temperatures increased to record levels.
Rescue 1122 said he provided emergency services to 46 people in the last 24 hours, of which 39 were hospitalized. Seven died in these emergencies.
The greatest amount of emergencies, eight, were reported in Okara, four in fine, two each in Faisalabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhang and Chinint and one in Lahore, Kasur, Jhelum, Sahiwal, Murree, Muzaffarhrh, Bahawalnagar and Khanewal.
Two people each died in Jhelum and Muzaffarh and one in Okara, Bahawalnagar and Khanewal.
According to the details, a 5 -year -old girl, identified as Dua Fatima, died when a bamboo ceiling collapsed in Basti Riazabad in Okara.
Two people were also injured.
In Jhelum, two people died after a Rickshaw charger fell into a storm drain on a flooded path.
In Muzaffarh, two people died when a wall of a house collapsed, burying them under the rubble. In Kasur, two girls died in a ceiling collapse, while a person died in a similar accident in Bahawalnagar.
Two farmers were killed by lightning while working in Campos in Khanewal and Toba Tek Singh.
The Provincial Authority for Disaster Management (PDMA) has also issued a report on the damage caused by rains in different Punjab districts during the last 24 hours.
According to the report, the maximum rain was recorded in the Faisalabad Gma Town area (98 mm) and Madina Town (91 mm). The rest of the city recorded 90 mm of rain.
In Lahore, the city of Nishtar recorded 50 mm of rain, 24 mm airport, while the rest of the city recorded 15 mm of rain. Kasur remembered 63mm, Sheikhupura 50mm, Joharabad 48mm, Sargodha 45mm, Chakwal 28mm, Chinint 22mm, Rawalpindi 18mm, Narowal 17mm, Attock 12mm, Gujrat and Mianwali 10mm, Muzafargarh and Nurpur Thal 5mm, Mangla and Sialkot 2mm, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Rawalakot 1 mm.
Urban flood
The strong downpour resulted in urban floods that paralyzed life in cities such as Lahore, fine and faisalabad.

In the city of Nishtar de Lahore, the continuous rain caused flooded roads, which led to traffic jams and power cuts.
The general director of PDMA, Irfan Ali Kathia, said that the deceased’s families will be compensated and assisted under government policy.
He also said that this monsoon rain spell will continue until July 1. Citizens have been asked to take precautionary measures.
The main secretary of Punjab, Zahid Akhtar Zaman, has ordered all relevant government departments that are on maximum alert to deal with possible urban floods.
In a meeting in the Civil Secretariat, the main secretary reviewed the precautionary measures that were taken to address urban floods.
All attached commissioners practically attended the meeting.
Mr. Zaman emphasized the importance of establishing security arrangements and asked officers to ensure regular cleaning of drains and sewerage lines.
He said that rainwater must be immediately drained from low areas. All drain pumps and another machinery must be kept in operation to allow rapid emergency responses.
