A seven -year -old girl suffered wounds at the top of the body and a 16 -year -old boy suffered leg wounds and torso. Both were taken to the hospital to receive additional treatment, and the police say that their wounds are not believed to be potentially mortal.
The truck was found shortly after 5 pm about 101 Avenue and 160 Street, after, according to the reports, it hit at least one parked vehicle.
“The police were on the scene very quickly and managed to locate the driver and arrest them,” the sergeant. Lindsey Houghton told CBC News.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation, but Houchton said alcohol may have been a contributing factor.
“We have had to deliver some very sad, unfortunate and tragic news today,” he said. “Not only is this the worst nightmare of a family, this is the worst nightmare of a police officer too.”

Houghton said that the intersection is expected to remain closed until well into the night while the officers gather evidence. It is asking the drivers and the pedestrians to avoid the area.
